Kelli Herbster and Family - Youth PastorKelli Herbster - Youth Pastor

Hello, my name is Kelli Herbster, and this is my husband Matt, daughter McKenzi, and son Evan. Matt and I have been married for 22 years and currently live in Middleburg, PA. We have been attending GCCC for the last eight years. I love kids and have a passion especially for teens. It is my heart’s desire for kids to know truth and to see them apply it to their lives.

Revolution “M”
Revolution “M” is the Junior High and Senior High Youth Groups of GCCC (Grades 6-12). We meet every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at “The Warehouse.” We also have many fun activities, retreats and events throughout the year. Come check us out!

The name “Revolution M” is based on the term “Millennials” for those born after 1984. In Battle Cry for a Generation, Ron Luce writes, “While many Americans today may call themselves ‘Christians,’ only four percent of Millennials affirm themselves as church-attending, Bible-believing Christians. If that statistic doesn’t alarm you, it should.” Here at GCCC, we are not willing to be satisfied with a mere four percent of our youth having hearts captured by God. It is the goal of Revolution M to defy those odds!

Vision -
To raise up a generation set apart, with hearts seeking God, fulfilling their God-created purposes, ready to step into the world

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2a (NIV)

Core Values-

  1. Speaking Life - We are committed to building up those around us, speaking truth and refusing to accept lies (James 3 NIV, Proverbs 15:4 NIV)
  2. Purpose - We believe God has created each one of us with a specific destiny and His plans are good for us. With His help, we can achieve the impossible. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
  3. Integrity - We are who we say we are, and we strive to do the right thing, regardless of our image, circumstances or earthly desires. Psalms 15:2-6 (MSG)
  4. Respect - We will honor all peers and leaders by actively listening to their thoughts, ideas and opinions, and we will honor the authority of our leaders. (I Peter 2:17 NIV)
  5. Safety - This is a safe and fun place created on the basis of structure and boundaries.
  6. Salvation - We believe that the only way to Heaven is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, Who brings life for today and hope for tomorrow. (John 14:6 NIV)

Suffering for Doing Right

1 Peter 3:8-9 "Finally, all of you should agree and have concern and love for each other. You should also be kind and humble. Don't be hateful and insult people just because they are hateful and insult you. Instead, treat everyone with kindness. You are God's chosen ones, and he will bless you."

Peter lists five key elements that should characterize Believers:

1. Harmony
2. Sympathy- being sensitive to others' needs
3. Love-seeing and TREATING each others as brothers and sisters
4. Compassion-being sensitive and caring
5. Humility-being willing to encourage one another and rejoice in each others successes.

In this world, it's acceptable by some to tear people down verbally or to get them back if we feel hurt. Remember Jesus' teaching about turning the other cheek. (Matt 5:39). Pay back wrongs by praying for the offender! In God's kingdom, revenge is unacceptable behavior, as is insulting a person. Rise above getting back at those who hurt you. Turn to prayer!

My prayer for you:

God, help us to develop an attitude of Love in every aspect of the life. Let us be blessed when we turn to you and prayer instead of getting revenge. May we learn to turn the other cheek and walk in all that you have called us to do!

Love to you all,

Kelli
